BIO: Peter Zaratin is the majority shareholder and CEO of the Long Island Rough Riders. A true visionary in the area of youth soccer Peter is an accomplished entrepreneur, coach, and player and it is his vision that is being realized through the current Rough Rider organization.

Prior to his current position, Peter formed Globall Soccer Concepts, Inc. Within a three-year period Peter developed Globall into a reputable international soccer training and management company. One of the main drivers of growth for Globall was in the area of indoor facility development. To that end, Peter has established relationships with various individuals and organizations to expand facility usage that supports the current youth program business of the Rough Riders.

In 2005, Peter acquired the Long Island Rough Riders professional men’s franchise which currently competes in the Player Development League (PDL) of the United Soccer Leagues. To compliment the men’s franchise, the Rough Riders successfully obtained the Long Island Lady Riders women’s franchise in 2007. Today, the Long Island Rough Riders have grown into a full-service integrated soccer franchise, which also includes a youth development program known as the Junior Rough Riders. In addition, the Rough Riders conduct camps, leagues, tournaments and training services to the Long Island soccer community.

Prior to founding Globall Soccer, Peter played professional soccer in the United States and in Europe. During his brief professional career Peter played in the USL with several A-League teams including the Staten Island Vipers, the New York Fever and the heralded Montreal Impact. During a very successful season with the Impact, Peter was called to play for Spandauer Sport Verin, in Germany, where he was voted one of the top goalkeepers in the German Regionalliga.

Peter graduated from Santa Clara University in 1995 with a BS in Communications. While at Santa Clara, Peter played under former U.S. World Cup coach Steve Sampson. During his college career, he was a member of the 1992 team that went to the National Finals of the NCAA. Peter was awarded numerous West Coast Conference Awards and in his senior year captained the Broncos. Prior to attending Santa Clara University, Peter played for the Regional and State ODP Program.

Peter also has coached professionally; in 2003 Peter was hired as head goalkeeper coach for the New York Power in the former WUSA league. Peter also provided training to the Rough Rider goalkeepers last season. Peter has coached several youth teams and trained thousands of players on Long Island over the years. He holds several coaching licenses including an A, B and a Youth License from the United States Soccer Federation. Peter serves as the coaching director of the Junior Rough Rider Youth Program while volunteering his goalkeeper expertise for the men’s soccer team at Hofstra University.
