Junior Rough Riders College Day at St. John's

Teams from the girls side of the Junior Rough Riders program participated in "College Day" this past Sunday at St. John’s University. The girls were in attendance as the 18th ranks St. John’s Red Storm came from behind and defeated Indiana University 2-1. Afterwards, the Junior Rough Rider parents participated in a college question and answer session while the girls held a training session on the field at Belson Stadium.

"This was a great opportunity for for the kids to see top-ranked Division I college soccer and for the parents to ask and learn about the college process," said Rough Riders Director of Coaching John Diffley. "The kids really enjoyed themselves and we have received a lot of positive feedback from the parents about the program.  It was a great day."

The Junior Rough Riders continue to make exciting strides in youth development and released the exciting “Passport to Play” program available to all Junior Rough Rider players.    The Rough Riders staff is excited about the new developments and the addition of outstanding coaches for the 2009-10 season.
