Dominick Sarle Selected for the US U20's

Former Junior Rough Rider, Dominick Sarle, has been selected by US U20 Men’s National Team head coach Thomas Rongen for the first training camp in the build up to the U20 FIFA World Cup in Columbia, 2011.

“My dream since I was a little kid was always to get the opportunity to play soccer for my country,” said Sarle. “Working up through teams like the Rough Riders and BW Gottschee have helped me get the exposure and skills I needed to make it to this level.  I’m looking forward to playing at St Johns this fall, and hopefully continuing on with the U20 national team.”

Sarle, Huntington, NY, who starred for the Junior Rough Riders in 2005 and 2006, is considered one of US’s best soccer prospects with the forward featuring in the 2009 FIFA U17 World Cup in Nigeria playing against Spain, Italy and the United Arab Emirates.

“To see one of our former Junior Rough Riders making such an impact is a great certification of the quality of the Junior Rough Rider program,” said Flavio Ferri, General Manager of the Rough Riders. “Everyone at the club works extremely hard to produce this kind of success and seeing this work come to fruition makes us all very proud.”
