Super Y-League Update

Plainview, NY (July 23, 2010) – The Long Island Rough Riders Super Y-League teams are at crucial points in their seasons, with only a few regular season games remaining as they battle for national championship berths.

The organization fields boys and girls teams from the Under-13 to the Under-16 age groups, who participate in the Mid Atlantic Division of the Super Y-League (the youth component of the United Soccer Leagues).


The Girls Under-14, coached by Eileen Martin, are in second place in their group with a 7-1-4 record (25 points). Five teams from the division will advance; the first and second place finishers from each group, and the team with the next best record from either group.  Meghan Frey’s Girls Under-14, are in second place in their group as well, with a 5-1-2 record (17 points). The top three teams from the group will advance.  The Boys Under-14 coached by Giovanni DiStefano, are in fourth place in their group, with a 5-4-3 record (18 points). The top three teams from the group will advance.

“It is a great sign for our program that we have three teams in position to qualify for the national championships,” said Rough Riders General Manager Flavio Ferri.

Junior Rough Riders Super Y-League teams enter their season with the goal of winning a National Championship.
