PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Junior Rough Riders Teams participate in the Mid-Atlantic Division of the Northeast Conference of the Super Y-League. SYL Divisions consist of approximately seventeen teams. The season schedule is comprised of twelve to eighteen matches, depending upon division and age group. The season begins no earlier than April 1st and officially ends in August.

Similar to their men’s and women’s counterpart, the Junior Rough Riders teams strive to win a North American Championship each year currently held in Tampa, Florida. An important and unique aspect of the Super Y-League is its structure. The SYL program is used as a regular soccer season or league, much like a professional league, and not as an outlet for teams to solely participate in select tournaments.

Junior Rough Riders teams range in age, from U13 to U20. Team rosters vary from 18 to 26 players. Twenty-six is the maximum number of players a team can carry while playing in the Super Y-League. All players must be registered with the United Soccer Leagues, the official registration system of the Super Y-League.

Junior Rough Rider teams that qualify for the Super Y-League Finals are obligated to attend the SYL North American Finals. Junior Rough Riders teams or individuals who fail to attend the SYL Final will be indefinitely expelled from the Junior Rough Riders program. On an individual basis, the goals of the Junior Rough Riders organization is to properly prepare players who are interested for collegiate competition, while providing opportunities for talented athletes to achieve their desire to play professionally.
