U.S. Open Cup features an assortment of strategic changes as the competition begins first-round action on May 15.

 Tryouts will be held in the Spring.

Ablett, the only player to win the FA Cup with both Merseyside clubs, also went on to play for Birmingham, Wycombe, Blackpool and the American side Long Island Rough Riders before turning to coaching.

Rough Rider, Thomas Wharf, was recognized in UK newspaper, The Southport Visiter, for his accomplishments while in the United States.
